Snapnote ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This document explains how we handle your information and the terms under which you use the Snapnote mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Snapnote is designed as a local-first application. This means we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data (such as names, emails, or phone numbers) to our own servers.

Any notes you take, book information you save, or images you capture are stored exclusively on your device's local storage.

2. Permissions and Usage

To provide its core features, Snapnote requires the following permissions:

• Camera: Used solely to photograph book pages for the purpose of text recognition (OCR). Images captured for OCR are processed on-device.
• Media Library / Storage: Used to allow you to select book cover images from your gallery and to save/export your data (backups/PDFs).

3. Third-Party Services

Snapnote uses third-party services to enhance your experience:

• Google Books API & Open Library: When you search for a book by title or ISBN, a query is sent to these services to fetch book metadata. No personal information is sent with these queries.
• ML Kit (Google): Used for on-device text recognition. Processing happens locally on your hardware.
• RevenueCat: Used to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. Only anonymized transaction data is shared.

4. In-App Purchases

Snapnote offers a one-time "Premium" purchase. All transactions are handled securely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not store your billing or credit card information. Refunds are subject to the respective store's refund policies.

5. Data Security

Since your data is stored locally, its security depends on your device's security. We recommend using device encryption and screen locks to protect your information.

6. Terms of Use (EULA)
